Christmas was great! Shelby knew exactly what to do with presents and she had no problems ripping apart the paper....we are in for it! We were in Cali and had a wonderful time with family and friends

Meeting Santa

Tree Decorating

So I was so busy with work and got sick after/during thanksgiving and did not put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving!!! I know I can barley believe it. So Heath and Shelby got the tree out to surprise me while I was at work.....which I was so thankful for but I cried at the same time cause they did it without me. But we were able to decorate the tree together and it was a perfect day!

We took our family pictures the day we decorated the tree as well....this is my favorite one of the two of us

Thanksgiving

Heath and I think Thanksgiving is great with a child! You have so much more to be thankful for. Shelby was able to hangout with her Grandma Kay and meet her great Grandpa Dave and her Great Grandma  Ramona which we forgot to take a picture. We went to her cousins blessing and heath and the boys were able to make alot of work on the cabin. If I can find the pictures I will put them up ;)

Bitter Sweet

We went to California this past weekend...My Uncle Geno passed away...

Gene was an amazing man, husband, father, friend and UNCLE! I will always remember him and my Aunt Kathy  they were amazing to be around and so much fun. Kathy was the picture taker and planner on my dads side of the family she would arrange for all of us to go to the Angles game, Disneyland, family pool days at her house, the family Christmas picture...she was also an amazing mother to my cousins and wife to my Uncle Gene. Kathy was also taken too early from this world the LA Time worte an article about it:  In life...and Death... a true love story

Gene was a fighter!! He loved his sons more than life itself and did everything for them. He always put everyone else's needs before his own. I will always remember the road trip I went on with him and Cody to see Aaron graduate form Stanford University. He said I reminded him of Kathy always keeping him on his toes...Cody and I put cold ice cubes down his back and played odd or even with his arm hair the whole way up...He could not be botheedr though he talked the whole way up about how proud he was of his son Aaron and how he just wished Kathy could be around to see this. Just recently Gene told me the story of how Kathy would sneak in the bathroom while he was in the shower and pour cold water on him which made me smile cause I do that to Heath all the time. Gene was also taken to early from this world a year ago he was diagnosed with leukemia.  I named this blog bitter sweet because although Gene is back with Kathy...we will all miss him very much. Gene finished raising two outstanding young men after Kathy passed. 
Kathy and Gene will live on though Aaron, Cody  and everyone who knew them forever!!!

At the beach

We stopped by the Beach while we were out here in 99 degree weather. Shelby kinda of like it I think the sun was alittle bright for her but she did not cry when her feet were in the water and it was kinda cold. But I was so good to be there with her. I love the beach I hope she does too some day. We had alot of good times on this beach with our family looking forward to creating good memories with her this one already topping the charts it was just us on the beach on a beautiful day with dolphins swimming by.

She is already leaving her footprints in the sand :)

Shelby's 1st Halloween

My mom purchased Shelby a Cow costume for Halloween! She looks adorable but I think she looks adorable in everything :) We were in California unexpectedly so it was great to go "trick or treating" at the great grandparents house and my two aunts house hope and Karen...I think it lightened the mood alittle.

My Aunt karen put the whole bowl of candy infront of her and she was in heaven!!!

 But just like her dad she went straight for the M&M's

 The great grandparents did not have any candy so they gave her 5 bucks it was pretty sweet

Estes Park

We went for a drive up to Estes Park last week to see all the fall colors and maybe some wildlife....we were in luck! Right when we got into town we pulled over to this golf course and there was a small herd of deer and a huge herd of Elk! It was so beautiful... a little cold which we were not prepared for but an amazing day.

After we left the golf course on our hunt for food we came across this guy....I thought he was a statue at first until he started moving....
